Now Id try and set a V rig probably with assit from groundies.

This is where i have used two prussiks and both ends of the rope.

If you are u asking about unassisted ...throwline with mini grapple.

How about a traverse with both ends tied off at base? You could pull a seperate traverse line up your lifeline, throwline the next tree where you want to be, let the line hit the deck and attach the live end of your traverse line to the remaining end of the throwline, and let the groundies pull it through. Tie off both ends, traverse the gap and re anchor in the new tree. Groundies can then pull the treverse line out...

I presume it'd only be worth doing in big trees so you'd need long lines!!! :D

if i leave a throwline anywhere it gets tangled.................using the ropes set in trees works well on shelterbelts though.

Thats what I should have done, pulled a rope up in place of the throwline, I think I had my access line up one the first tree and no spares. The first piece of deadwood out of the firs ttree got wrapped up in the throwline and that was that.

(groundie was having a climb too, so he no help at all!)

Only ever done it by branch walking out far as possible and finding a good crotch to lower down onto the new tree either that or just take a big swing and get ready to grab lol.

I posted a pic of a little grapple on here a bit ago, I'd think that would be the best bet if you can get your rope or throwline over.
