Yella Grapnel - anyone used one?

I was just looking at random stores and come across this american site that sells these:

yella%20grapnel%20sm.jpg

3.5" long.

Link: New Tribe store

Has anyone ever used one, maybe not this one specifically but a grappling hook non-the-less. Seems like quite a novel idea that could help out sometimes. Obviously there's ways round nearly all problems that a flick of the rope could solve but the batman inside makes me want one.

You can use them to set another rope high in the next tree, even at the same height that you are already at i.e. horizontaly across from you. First you throw a throwline across to the next tree and let the throwbag hand done a few feet below the branch that you want. (bag needs to be quite heavy), then attach the grapnel to the throwline via a prissik loop. Then let the throwbag descend, this pulls the grapnel accross then a few flicks and the grapnel should catch the descending part of the throwline, then pull it back to you.

Never tried it myself, sounds complicated, usually a groundie can help.

i've seen a home made one used, and has the advantage of not having to climb again from the base of the next tree. top hole idea.
