Since getting the GM 220 we've had to take off a piece of the roof of the tranny to accommodate it's extra height, but wanted at the same time have the option of a completely closed roof for the TW, so we bought some gas struts and welded up a flap so we can have both.

I still can't afford a truck so this little guy is doing me well. Once the street tyres are worn out I'll be putting some ATs on and doing a simple lift. Gets most places and also makes a comfy driver and doesn't tow to badly.

Where did you get the gas struts from mick? I was thinking about pinching a couple out of a breakers yard.

Picked up a used custom built Rack with cupboards for the truck today. Slid on and bolted down just fine. Just need to add some aluminum checker plate behind the mesh so the chips don't blow out. On the whole it's getting there though. I'm keeping an eye out for some winch bumpers too, but no rush.

Very noice truck Reg. Is that a load handler fitted to the tailgate ? That beauty will take alot of chip if ya extend the greedy boards upwards by anudder 12'' or so. Ya cud have a simple tarpaulin made up with elastic shock cord round the edges to attach to the top of the greedy boards and stop chip blowing out all over the gaff.
