I wear a vest day in day out when I'm working, weather that be to keep me cooler or keep me warmer on colder day. I really can't see a problem with them, yeah they may not look as professional as a polo shirt but I for one can't stand to spend more than an hour or so in a polo shirt. I have never lost work or been frowned upon by any client or potential client for wearing one, I think it make more of a differance what vehicle/tools you have and what condition there in. If your wearing a vest and present your self well and do a professional job no one is going to have a problem. Put it this way, what looks more professional. A guy that turns up in a banged up transit with wooden chip sides wearing a polo shirt and high viz or a guy that turns up in a newer better kept transit/4x4 pickup and gets out wearing a vest? In my opinion the first one I mentioned would look more gypsy than the second one
