I've done similar but using chogging cuts, not cutting right through.

Basically i put a chogging cut in the first lump, then start to cut the second chog and leave the saw in there while i break the first chog off. Takes the saws weight off your harness and makes chucking the wood down abit easier as you can move about abit easier.

Does that make any sence, im sure you know what i mean

Would appear to be a very efficient practice.

However, I would say that that type of speed, has absolutely no place up a tree and is a lesser climbers serious accident waiting to happen.

I certainly would discourage any novice to even attempt it.

And further more, what is the point of such a large bar on a blocking job.

Someone will drop a section on to a groundy or target, and will cut their strop or worse, through complacency.

dont see anything wrong with it, i'll do the same, but step cut, move down, cut 1/4 into the next, push top off, then finish the one i started, only when using 660 or above though

old matey should think about changing bars though, whats the point having one so small???
