Midline attachable would make me lean toward a lock jAck. But from what I understand the zz works great with an RW. Why not a uni?

I agree the ZZ works great with my RW. I've used the spider Jack previously for several years and prefer the ZZ. The thing I disliked with the spider was rapid clutch wear.

Love my spiderjack with a pulley saver. I don't find it has any problems in the wet and I love the self tend rope choice is key though I use 11mm velocity with mine. I had a quick go on the ZZ1 and agree with what was said earlier. It's good but doesn't self tend as well as the SJ

Thanks for the replies:thumbup1:

Wish it were that simple. Many of the firs less than 50 years old are covered in resin bubbles throughout the limbs and main stem. You rub your line on them and they burst. Cant really avoid your line rubbing on the tree for too long.

Come on I know lots of guys here have used both. So what do you say ? I need to decide today or tomorrow.

If it's tuppence you're after then zig zag. The only thing changed since mk 1 that makes sod all difference is the top attachment point. I found the SPJ ok but I am ham fisted and impatient which isn't a good combo with it. I would love to take the time and get a technique sorted with it though.

Have you tried any different hitches?
