  1. No worries mate, take care!
  2. Exactly the same as the 201t mate. I have one on my 150tce
  3. Hello mate how's life in NZ treating you? You still enjoying it? Good to hear from you.
  4. The 150tce is perfectly capable for 90% of the reductions we do. I'm a utility arborist so it does just fine for my clearance jobs. I love it as it saves taking a 201 and a silky and you barely feel it on the harness. It leaves lovely pruning cuts and the chains are cheap so why not. It's not a 201t but it's horses for courses and if your gonna 1 hand then far better with a 150tce than a 201t!
  5. I'd love a 14" pro lite bar for a 201t please if you can spare one please rob. I've had a stihl rollomatic 14" bar and have a suspicion it's a tad bent as I'm having to force it a little in the big wood. Also the sugihara looks really good so I may just be looking for an excuse! Keep stocking the top notch gear rob!
  6. If you climb at work on a Prussik then climb on a Prussik. Remember smooth is fast and fast is smooth! Worth using a cambium saver defo like! Be smooth though and remember to clip your strop up!
  7. There are lots of climbers who do the 3ATC comps on Prussiks, don't worry about it and have fun! That cedar is a great tree to climb and Paul, Tony and Nick will do all they can to put you at ease. As far as setup goes use what you're comfortable with, I've always gone hitch climber as it's my day to day setup. I wish I'd been able to get there but I'm in Spain this week on holiday!
  8. I know, the techlite bars are really soft. Yes it's still a 52 link chain for the Oregon bars. Even better change the chain as well to the non anti kickback ones and it'll be even better!
  9. Nobody I work with likes the techlite bars. Oregon bar makes a big difference.
  10. A colleague of mine uses a 395xp and I use an ms660 with the same 30 inch bar and the husky makes my 660 look like a baby. However my stihl is far more reliable!
  11. I tend to watch tree work videos on YouTube from time to time while the wife is watching crappy reality tv shows and I watched all of August's videos today and I have to say they are really well put together. Not only is the tree work top notch but also the camera work and creativity as well as the choice of music. Keep them coming August!
  12. I can't recommend tachyon enough! Great allrounder, works well with textile i.e hitches and mechanical devices. I have 2 of them, a long one and a shorter one. I would say however that the teufelberger tachyon is noticably softer than the regular tachyon and would therefore opt for the normal tachyon and I'm not overly keen on the slaice eyes.
  13. Amen to that! And it works a treat! A sharp chain is a must when using the spear cut though, especially on larger limbs.
  14. Gustharts will get you a set in mate, they're about £60.00
  15. Boel Hammarstrand is an incredible competition climber, I can only imagine how good her tree work is!
  16. Although the saw won't go into production, the carbon bars are on their way.
  17. Leatherman wins for me! Never go anywhere without it.
  18. I've got a pair of stihl x-fits which are a lot better than hiflex but a fair bit more expensive. Have you considered a pair of stein kreigers? They're really hard wearing, I'd definitely recommend them.
  19. Have a word with Jonah at facelift on the team valley. I did my IPAF there. He'll sort you out. Here's the office number 0191 487 8988
  20. Phew! Thanks again for the how to guide. As i say I'm not one for dropping saws on the strop or dragging them up through the crown, I'd rather clip it up close so as you suggested I'll use the original tool clip for the caritool...Ideal!
  21. I just screwed straight through the loop at the end of the webbing with a washer on top into that hole, do you think this will be adequate or do you think I should cut it shorter and soldering iron or hot chainsaw file through the thick part or the webbing? Thanks
  22. Please someone take pity on me and my rubbish saw!
  23. Hi reg, after watching pretty much all of your videos it's fair to say that your climbing is naturally smooth and fluid and would suit both the spider jack and the zigzag. I have both but definitely prefer the zigzag. I'd say it's more predictable and instinctive than the spider jack and definitely isn't affected as much by wet or sappy ropes as the spider jack. I use tachyon as my day to day rope and use a cambium saver whenever practical and it is a joy to use. Don't take my word as gospel, just my preference. How're you enjoying your T540xp? Tempted to swap the 201t for one. All the best.
  24. Just done this myself, literally took 5 minutes! Well worth it to ease the niggling worry every time it comes out the van! Not that I'm one for dropping my saw on my strop as a rule, but on those awkward branches it's certainly nice to know your £370 quid saw would be safe if you needed to. Thanks for the photos, helps when people show you how to do things. I used the little sling from the spider jack dyneema kit as I'm now a zigzag man. Waste not want not! Thanks again!
