Looking to get an A11v Riko electric log splitter and was wondering how much you spend roughly in petrol or electric to run your machine?

And will there be much difference in price by running the machine off electric rather than petrol?

The Riko A11 is a hydraulic splitters that is run by electric motor I believe. I wanted the electric version so that I can work in a shed for when its raining (which seems like most the time now haha)

To work out the cost of running electric splitter: look at the motor data plate and note how many watts it is rated at....divide the watts by 1000 to find the kilo watts and multply that by however much your leccy suplier charges per KW,thats how much per hour it will cost to run.

Electric isn't just for homeowners. If you have three phase and don't want to move the splitter about, then it's the way forward as far as I'm concerned. Quiet and cheap. Just make sure the specs (ram speed, tonnage) match like for like, petrol to electric.
