i am donating a load of straw to @sunkfarmer may need immediate forage appeal for evacuated cattle collection point Sedgemoor market junction 24 m5 any one donate a lorry to transport to this area.

following on twitter and farmers are having to slaughter cattle as they have no feed bedding or place to re home cattle etc any help any one can send these people would sure be appreciated a flooded house is one thing but 100s cattle are one big head ach as even fields are all under water.

Terrible scenes over there, absolutely heartbreaking, and I suspect as usual that the BBC are only scratching the surface compared to reality.

 

Some truly shocking stuff over on the British Farming Forum as to how this situation has come about, and it's not all due to the weather!

 

However, an admirable act on your part sir!

Its a long shot but Ive asked someone who may be able to help,

 

The goverment should stop spending so much money on foreign aid and spend it on the UK

If the government where any use they would realise the army has lorries for such a task and could be seen to be doing something useful.

They made half the army redundant, the rest are fighting a war they shouldn't be involved in... Knowing the gov' they would supply the troops plimsolls to wade in just like the useless boots they supplied for the desert...

 

In an attempt to stop flooding, the EA used to dredge rivers that had silt build up... Luckily, they sold all (or nearly 90%) of our dredgers to another country (Switzerland I think) so that plan is out of the window. :blushing:
