Who sharpens a saw like this

I do mine in the hopper of the chipper or on the trunk of a felled tree, sharpen one side right handed and the other left handed, I've not used a vice for sharpening a chain for the best part of 20 years, I dread to think how many chains I've filed away, must be 1000's.

 

I have been keeping used up chains for a project, its amazing how fast the box had filled.

i struggle being lefthanded but manage it but do end up moving the saw about a lot can never seam to get comfy

I mounted a vice on my chipper for these jobs

i am left handed and getting on annd can not sharpen them on ground. looking at getting a small vice with a clamp on to bolt to tail gate of pick up.

can do both sides ok find doing if saw is facing right looking at it easier than doing the left hand side

similar thing, I put down something dry, kneel down on it then clamp the saw between my legs and sharpen, have done it that way since I started.

Guess I'm in better shape than I thought then
