In eire you have 2 screen stickers

1) road tax

2) insurance

I would add a third

3) mot

You can then check at a glance that car is legal.......

Simple and effective

Can only assume they are moving to automated no plate recognition With fixed fines possibly automated from your credit card........

My mate is magistrate and he tells me number of cases on courts has crashed as bobbies are dishing out fixed penalties for pretty much everything including assault with a weapon

Not good when one body is enforcement officer , judge and jury ...

How soon before someone gets £50 for carrying a silkie/chainsaw in his car?

They aren't judge and jury because you can decline the ticket and get a judge, if not jury

You cant be fined for legitimately carrying the tools of your trade.
