using the information given in the pipestock site it says the cheaper class E stuff (£13) is only of 3mm wall thickness but the class 7inch is 5.2mm.

this is obviously where the extra cost is coming from. but it's still a bit steep in my mind...

the woodworker in the website states that he used the thinner pipe and it didn't hold up and as i intend to hold 100ft3 of wood (beech) on them i don't want it collapsing under the weight.

thanks for all the suggestions fellas, keep em coming.

delabodge, whats blue water pipe???

Steve if it is staining you worried about just cover a dry wooden sticker with some waterproof sellotape. I have not done it but can't see why it would not work. To lower the contact area you could pop a groove in each side. I would have thought the conduit in the pictures will flatten out over time with a decent weight on it.

Have you had problem with conventional dry wooden stickers?

I used to use a plastic board, which I can't remember the name of but is very similar if not the same as the stuff commercial/plastic chopping boards are made. It comes in 8x4 sheets which then I ran through a table saw (lovely stuff to work with) to create my stickers. As you can imagine you get an awful lot from one sheet for c10m cutting time.
