there is a show on discovery right now showing what effect drugs have on the body.

they are getting 4 habitual users to perform a series of tasks when high. Meth, Coke, Heroin and Weed are being tested.

its pretty interesting.

i gave up weed because i thought it was holding me back in collage, not only did my collage work improve but something truely amazing happened, i dont know if its made me more talkative, more focused or just smell better but now i can go on a night out and get laid pretty much every time, its amazing! you don't no what your missing!!! (dont drink too much though other wise this plan can backfire and you wake up getting spooned by king kongs big sister) leave recreational's for recreational time in work you need to have your thinking hat on!

Drugs (including booze/hash/coffee based drinks) are for leisure time to those who feel the need and out of work is personal time.

Taking them all though working hours when using machines and climbing is foolish and must mean people work in bad places to feel the need to do so.

In all the site I have worked have never seen people smoking hash. How could one manage to fell all those trees and do good paid piece work?

Purchase of drugs is funding the Taliban!

Personally,

A spilf after the jobs done is harmless, as long as no more climbing is involed or chipping.

The THC in strains of cannabis varies and induces different affects as its sits on different neurological receptors.

Beer is worse for than cannabis... PROVEN FACT, yet, we legalise alcohol, tobacco and caffeine.

Comment from the drugs goverment dude the other day said that "the war on drugs isnt working, 30 years on and we still in the same place"

Why not try a fresh approach??

Legalise it, control it and make money from it.

a true story from a company i worked for in the southern hemisphere - who shall remain nameless - Drive back from a hard and hot days work, with the standard case of beers in the truck picked up on the way home - myself and the driver both supping on one as we drive into the yard. Cleaning tools having a beer and the boss comes up for a beer and a chat.

Boss - ' Right lads im going to introduce a random drug testing policy in the company - can you pass me another a beer '

Groundy - 'can i have two weeks notice before the test?'

Boss- ' That kind of defeats the object'

Groundy - 'fair enough - have you got some sciccors?'

Boss - 'Sure what for?'

Groundy - 'I need to cut up my weed for this spliff'

Boss - 'Oh...Can you pass me another beer'

Dog then runs past us with a cactus in its mouth

Boss - 'Dogs in for an interesting night'

Me - Hang on is that a San Pedro cactus? (contains mescalin)

Boss - yup

Me - Where did he get that from

Boss - They are growing in the wood chip pile

Me - How did they get there?

Boss - I planted them for a laugh.

Me - oh, ok.

Boss - So about the drugs testing..

Crew Leader - you'd have to fire us all.. anyone for the pub?

ahh memories...vague memories...

I had a friend. Note the word 'had' as he no longer wants to speak/contact me.

We were good mates and I had a lot of respect for his trade which was originally a farm manager. He ran a tight outfit and a profitable farm. He had a lovely girlfriend who became his wife and who was totally dedicated to helping him with his work.

The owner of said farm decided to sell up so my friend had to move. No problem there as I'm talking the boom time 80's here.

Setting up as a 'Specialist Tree Surgeon', gaining experience and the required blue book tickets wasn't too much of a problem. Work came in and he was good, so more work came in and his business expanded and machinery was needed so that was acquired. Unimog & etc. With all the work money wasn't a problem.

Now the hard bit was running the staff who, in a 'high risk' business, just wasn't so easy. This meant his relax time, which involved cannabis crept into his work time and that was his eventual downfall. Poor staff management, poor organisation and some silly accidents resulted in insurance claims and then the renewals became too high and then there was an ever decreasing spiral of dope smoking versus poor work and finally the business and marriage failed and he now works in a service industry.

In my opinion dope smoking and work really do not go together at all and those who say it does are simply kidding themselves. Just wait, and one day it will catch you unawares! If you're lucky it will result in a simple warning but you may be one of the unlucky ones who receive a nasty shock.

Is it worth the risk?

That's my 2p's worth.
