Quite often whilst on a domestic job I have the customer come out saying they've got an old saw in their shed, is it any good to you? Usually it's a knackered old b&q relic that's no good to man nor beast but I got a pleasant surprise the other day when I got given this 024...

Nice one!

I just got given an old MTD chipper/shredder. A quick oil change and sharpen the blades, and it's saved at least a day's money for a labourer on a row of garden clearances above a sunken lane with nowhere to park.

It chips up to 3', so in reality about 1.5-2" allowing for unions. Still amazingly effective on garden jobs with poor access.

Where do all these customers come from..

I have never been given a saw, normally I get asked, "I've got this old saw in the shed, it doesn't run properly, any chance you could look at it for me?"

So I check it over and with a few tweaks it runs perfectly, normally a fuel change and a few pipes

Then they want it back.

And I would really like some free saws.....lol

Good find by the way.

Pre 90's as the bar has made in west Germany on it. It's had that little use it still has the film over the badges! Bit of fresh fuel and oil and it runs perfect.

I usually end up with them trying to sell me things instead of giving me them, the last time it was a steel combi ladder

I have lost track of the number of customers that have said " I have a chainsaw in my shed, could you show me how to sharpen it?" never been offered one to take away, even a b&q plastic fantastic :sneaky2:

Well done you, still got the plastic on the name plate............... Nice!

To copy the Americans on a find like this, you suck! All I've got is an old blower, that's a nigh on mint 024AVEQ, so will be dated around '85
