new top handel ms 201 t or t540xp

why you say the 540 i have heard nothing but good things like if i could find a brand new ms 200 i would get that but there to hard to get

 

We have had all three at the same time . 201 is pants 200 is a good saw as every body knows . T540 is slightingly better than a 200 and shed loads better than a 201 . Thats how I see it anyways ......

I have had nothing buy problems from my x2 201s (clutch springs repeatedly breaking, tuning issues, and plastic top handle shattering 2 times. Just got a new husky and so far no complaints. Everything els I own is sthill so it was a big jump to go to huski but felt I had no choice...

:thumbdown:me to. 2 new handles and cant tune the bloody thing. worst saw ive ever bought. if and when my old 20s die i am off to the dark side. my clutch springs are ok, maybe because i use my old one more as its better. dont try chasing a back cut with one, it takes 5 seconds to start going!!

I've got a 2011 201 so one of the first ones, I got it cheap actually when I got it, it was only a year old and it was terrible actually it was dangerous ( I couldn't finish cuts before the ripped) so I went a head and drilled the exhaust ( twice for good measure) and drilled the resistor out of the carb and turned the fuel up on it then tuned it up after I done that, it's made 100% difference actually I've had mine side by side a 540 and 200 and put them in a log together the 200t was faster but the 540 was slightly slower than the 201 but not by much.

But these things should of been sorted before the 201 release and the customer shouldn't have to modify their saw to get it running properly. I also feel that the husky 540 is very over rated only because of the disappointment of the 201 the king of top handle saws is the sthil 200t and I feel it will be for some time
