A few years ago I fully restored a 1978 rd250 dx. 2 days after finishing it I parked it behind a friends parked car at another friends house. When he left he reversed straight into it and half ran it over. When he came back in, he said sorry I hit your bike, but it wasn't there when I parked. I would say some things about him but he passed away last year, God rest his soul.

Lucky you weren't a cyclist or a mother pushing a pram!!

Why don't people reverse onto their drives, instead of off them??????????

Abso-flippin'-lutely. For the first time ever the other day I saw a professionally made sign on a verge 'no reversing onto road unless under direction'.

Serves him right for buying a Peugeot. My most hated car ever, after all Citroens.

I resemble that remark. we love our Berlingo :001_tt2: Actually it's just a car that gets us about cheaply and carries loads of junk and Citroen and Peugeot are built in the same facility. How do you ratify this irrational hatred of something inanimate did it run away with your grandmother or run over your pet rabbit ?

:congrats: This is a personal irritation of mine too.

I think in the highway code it is recommended to reverse into off highway accesses. Its bleeding common sense. Everyone sees what you are doing and most often they wait for you to get out the way. Having come home after a journey vehicle is excellent in internal visibility not misted not frosted over. Not to mention others are more likely to have poor visibility in a morning.

In answer to your question its laziness and living in the present gormlessness. Think, plan ahead. Quick back in now. Quick pull out next time you need to use the motor.:banghead:
