There's another HP 1x37 easy on advertised in fife Scotland. This sold on eBay in Kent around 3 or 4 months ago but is using the same pics and description so if be carefull with this one as well!

I'm struggling to see how the con works with this but I certainly wouldn't be paying until I saw it in the flesh!

eBay scammers: look or under a hundred feedbacks but mainly 0 feedback 0% and an external email like hot mail...

Also look for places which are out of the road like Skye, Isle of Man etc..

Very easy to spot a dud from a fair auction..

Unless they've a fair bit of feedback and the standard lines of selling (contact seller through eBay, PayPal etc)walk away fast!

This sadly is no longer the case

Some of the diggers i have seen and enquired about lately on ebay are from hijacked high feedback accounts, and they have changed the email address so they don't have to avoid putting the email in the add (which ebay will pull straight away for)

They have also been all over the place not just scotland anymore. quite a few now in essex it appears

The last few have then texted me to ask if i'm still interested.

The general thing to go by now is if it is slightly underpriced then be cautious. and if you buy without viewing you need your head examined.

which then brings us onto the matter that if you go view and are not 100% sure it's a legitimate add then take someone with you if you are taking a wad of cash along.

When I was looking for a mini digger recently on Plant Trader, there was a snide one minutes away in Ingatestone. :001_rolleyes:

The problem is people do get drawn into these scams. We sold our hp 1x37 on eBay mid summer and the chap that bought ours had fallen for a con paid 2k for a machine the same as ours that obviously never turned up but worryingly when he reported it to the police several others had also paid these people! Unfortunately for our buyer he'd paid by bacs where as some of the others paid via PayPal so got refunded but not all.

Strangely enough though our processors been relisted on around several different accounts since using the same pictures as mine and also the same description but in various different parts of the country and done on profiles with 0 feedback and others with lots.

The internet is quickly becoming a place to be very cautious which spoils it for genuine sellers unfortunately.

Also another thing to be aware of is the actual web address you are looking at. If the web address your looking at isn't Electronics, Cars, Fashion, Collectables, Vouchers and More Online Shopping | eBay then you are probably looking at a website that copies ebay, hence if you sign in or buy anything then they can get your details.
