I did say "wouldn't it be easier to shoot it." Apparently it's the 4 or 5th bird the guy has arranged tree surgeons to rescue. Normally they charge 40-50 quid.

I bet they're the caravan dwelling, Irish twang speaking, transit van driving sort of bird rescuers?:sneaky2:

they'll ruin the industry they will:thumbdown: I heard of one bloke who got a quote for a bird-takedown and they said they'd do it for the bird!

Left a skip full of feathers and charged a fortune to get rid of them though..

Amazing. It must take an unusual type of person to notice the same bird sat in a tree for a long time, then think it needed rescuing. Most people wouldnt notice or would assume it was a different bird.

Birds live on the edge when it comes to survival as they cant store fat. They wont fly. They generally feed first light.Digest mid morning to early afternoon, then get on the feed to get them through the night.

If feeding conditions are poor, you can find the floor of a roosting wood covered in the dead in a morning. The type of person who would ring the fire brigade or rspca about a bird in a tree would have a heart attack.

Shocking waste of money.
