scythe course

is anyone interested in learning to use a scythe. have started to see that a number of jobs could be done just as quick and easy using a scythe. saves on cost of fuel cord. and is quicker.

if you are and in my area. waiting to hear back from a trainer to show how its done.

once i have more details eg cost how many he can take at a time will post.

there will be the cost of a scythe to go on top of course fees. and possible be near winchester the venue.

if a cythe is part of it, then yes! Ive wanted one for ages after seeing a guy doing it in Romania, awesome and no petrol!

have you actually looked at the price of a good scythe, thats a hell of a lot of strimmer fuel, and you need to decide on your blade style as well. I was shown how to use one many many years ago and must have cut acres of blow grass and thistles in my youth, now its all done with a quad and mini topper, the old skills are all being lost

We do a lot of scythe work round are holding. Takes a bit of getting used to but just as quick as a strimmer. More importantly no ppe no horrible noise and no burning oil.

I actually have a scythe....But I can't for the life of me get the technique....my old man makes it look a doddle!

I have a feeling it's down to me being left handed using a right handed tool, so could do with some lessons!

There's talk of there being a group being formed through the South of England Hedgelaying Society, Apparently a few of the members are interested. One of them was round my house this week telling me all about. Definetly worth a look.

was that Garry by any chance. be interested if they are thinking of running one. reminds me to pay my subscription for the year. good society to belong to. some of the hedgelaying is a bit of a trek to go to. as south east.
