Has anybody experience of the systems that remotely link your CCTV cameras to your iPhone or iPad?

They phone you if you have an intruder and you can see what's going on. Only helps if your yard is a few minutes away.

spoke to a builder the other day who has a system that is linked to his iphone, he told me he was in spain the other week on holiday and checked on the camera on the yard, he couldn't make out why one of the lorries was reversing back and forth, he phoned his foreman and it turned out there was a problem with the brakes on it, but they were shocked when he knew what was going on in the yard when he was on holiday.

Prevention is better than cure - the TILE looks promising.

All this Charles Bronson crap (maiming, shooting, trapping etc.) is bo11ocks.

What do you think would happen if a nomad/low life drug abuser/common thief/organised criminal got tangled up in a load of hooks?

Would they just run off and never return? NO - a bunch of them will return and you will have a lot more to worry about. They know where you live but you don't know where they live. This sort of scum work like this. I have no intention of blabbing on in public about my security measures or saying what sort of terminator I have at my yard.

This is NOT Hollywood, we are not 'never gets hurt' heroes and the villains do not always get their come-uppance. And even if they did the mamby pamby legal system will side with them because you used undue force.

Deterrents not revenge. AND be careful what you say on an open forum - anyone could be reading.

Like I said, I'm only drying them.:001_tongue:

For the most part, I DO know where they live, and I live in a place where we have a pretty strong sense of community.

The last time they turned up, they found themselves chased off by the locals, who all turned up suitably equipped, and NO ONE got a visit afterwards.

I had a couple of young scruffs walk in to my main yard on a scouting expidition the other day, after any scrap at all.

I gave them some free advice as to the quickest way back out,and that if they came back in again they'd feel my old boot up their backsides.

What's the point of cctv if you don't get any backup from the coppers. You cannot show there faces as it infringes there human rights. If you injure them in anyway they sue the arse off you. All paid for by the tax payer. US. Make life as hard as possible for them and if they are determined save your old dead saws close to hand or the front door. They'll nick anything. They not going to check if they working while nicking them
