Come on now theres enough of us on this forum we must be able to come up with some ideas on how to sort this out:sneaky2:

Apart from what we'd all like to to do the individuals in question. :boxing:

Is it fair to suggest that most thefts happen from our yards units lock ups, probably what are the options for protecting our equipment. The guys im working for have been cleaned out twice and will be unable to get insurance when! it happens again.

Does CCTV work? Anyone use a mobile security company?, anyone ever consider clubbing together with other businesses to spread the cost of security?

You can only do what you can. Cameras alarms, chain everything up tight.

You can put as many locks and chains on gates as you like.

There is one simple thing to remember, if they want it they WILL find a way to get it.

Trackers, locks, cameras, chains etc etc etc. they are nothing but a deterant. Only possible thing is to make it look as hard and that it will take a long time and a lot of noise to get at any tools.

If your going to use mobile security it'll be best to have cctv installed as well. Why? Well theres lots of companies thatll over work there lads, i.e give too many sites and the lads will just choose which are quickest to use. I know of one company that had the repay a client over £4.5k as they weren't keeping to the contracted agreement.

I wouldn't say every company is like that but most do think more about turn over, than doing a decent job. I was shocked at the level of service when i did mobile/doors whilst i was waiting for my cp licence to come through.

Would it be easier to have friends/family come around to the yard and get them to point out any weaknesses and possible ideas to counter act these.
