Well, I suppose your Fuchsias do look a bit like Willowherb (food plant)! Perhaps they are a genuine alternative though at this time of year I'd have expected the larvae to be burrowing underground for overwintering as pupae.

 

It's Cornwall, could be a bit warmer so he's not heading down yet?

I saw my first one a couple of weeks ago whilst down in France Mick, Cahors area.

Impressive little grafter, we were well into the rouge and it was still cracking on, must have been gone 8pm.

Not a butterfly yet, but I found this beast at the bottom of my privet hedge. 

I've no idea what it is yet, but I'll have a look when I have time

they feed on rosebay willowherb - any nearby
