Shetland, s/h chipper capital of the world

Recommended Posts

Yet another one - Wood Chipper Greenmech 150 chipmaster 6" | eBay

Shetland has more second hand chippers for sale on Fleabay than anywhere else i know. This one is the usual zero feedback and the tow hitch has recently been replaced, their roads must be murder on the hitches:sneaky2:

I mean who's actually bidding on them?

A while back, I saw an advert which had a postcode, chucked that Google Eath then looked around. Very few trees and no properties in the area looked anything like those in the add. Not concrete proof I know, but it was giving a big clue.....

I do know of one chap who did buy one from there, gave his credit card details and drove up! No such address! No woodchipper around....

I found a stolen machine the other day too. The new owner was aghast that his ebay bargain wasn't genuine and that cheap chipper was suddenly expensive!

Please remember this, if it is cheap - there is a reason! It is either knackered, or someone else's! Check the numbers match with the original supplier, importer, manufacturer!

Got a reply from him - he says he only wants the delivery cost up front -

You can pay him for the chipper within 10 days of receiving it!!!!

Ha ha ha ha ha

Next time I sell anything I'll only expect the buyer to pay the postage, they can pay the price of the item some time after they receive it......

It must be genuine then, and he's a really trusting bloke,

Why don't someone else ask him some questions - maybe have a prize for the best

question/response.

I have just dealt with a stolen recovered machine, I have mixed feelings about telling the police now as they will not pursue the case yet the insurers, who paid out in full for the machine, will now take it from the guy that bought it in good faith.

As far as I can tell it still has all the original serial numbers so a check with the importer would have flagged a problem.

Many can sympathise here, but do be careful what you publish on a forum.

I was being. The simple fact is that the thieves cannot be traced and whilst all of us with insured machines are the overall losers the one who takes the big hit is the guy who inadvertently buys the stolen goods because he wasn't prudent in carrying out checks.
