Hhhmmm. He broke it so he fixes it. Simples.

And a lesson learnt for you. But saying that I do borrow a saw now and again to do some work. But it's always returned in the same condition it came in and is always sharp when returned. I break it I fix it, that's my motto.

Sounds like a hole in the tank part and depends on size of hole as to the damage caused. It can be repairable. My advice is to stripe it down, clean it up and take a good look and try and see where the oil is coming from, but it won't matter to you as the other guy will be doing this.

You bend it, you mend it.

Golden rule of a pro user don't lent anything to anyone! I have learnt the hard way so now I don't lend stuff. Call me miserable but......

You are probably right Hodge! Although I do, from time to time lend stuff out. I also use a mates trailer now and again. Either way, if any thing got damaged it would be repaired at our own cost.

yeah i only have one set of saws (no spare top handle etc).

i cant afford to repair anything that 'mates' break and can't fix.

if a good friend wants to borrow a saw i just offer to do the job for them.

Found it's a bar stud that's been pulled out. So the oil is pouring from there

Looks like you will need a helicoil repair or if the hole has been made too large to take one, it will be an insert! Not too bad a job for the adept tech!
