Second opinion on pear.

Evening,

Found this pear on ebay that i put the opening bid on, been outbid and was considering how much i was willing to pay so has a close look at the photo. The end grain appears to be absolutely riddled with worm holes, im guessing its firewood. second opinion if you dont mind. I was getting excited about a lump of this rare wood, but think ill have to wait.

i'm looking at that pear too but didnt realise it had woodworm in the end till i read your post think i might pass on it now.

 

even if its got worm in it i still think that there could be some nice planks cut from it and they could be treated and used for coffee table slabs.

 

i was going to go up to £30 myself and if it stays cheap then why not take a punt.

 

im not the bidder by the way.....
