Hope its not some attempt to weazel out out of the warranty?

Surely they are all identical, kind of sounds like they are sugesting "imports" aren't as strong though? :001_huh:

All in UK must be imported as they don'y manufacture in the UK?

Looks like they have weaselled out of it!

Here is their 1st reply:

Hi there

Please could you advise how long you have had it? This is an imported model and is not manufactured or sold in the UK- please could you advise where you bought it- it may be that you will have to return it to the importers

Many thanks

Then their response

Hi there

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately as I said in my last email this is an imported model and we do not carry any stock of them. Is it possible that you could contact the retailer? Other than that you could try and contact Fiskars Finland, they may be able to help you. Their email is as follows:

[email protected]

------------------------------------------------------

Suppose I shall go that route and see what happens.

I would of thought if I brought it in the EU then that's a single market?

Anyone know any different?

I have an X10 for smaller logs and kindling and an X25, was converted after I saw the fiskars YouTube video, comparing it to loads of different axes etc.

Had the X25 a day before it skipped off the log and into a paving slab... Now got a small chip on the head, lesson learned there.

No problems with the axes other than my user error...

Doesn't sound promising for you

What I don't get is why on earth did they not want to sell the X27 in the UK. We all end up buying from abroad because at the time we couldn't get one here. I would have happily paid a bit more to get one from the UK but the only ones I could find were on E-bay and judging by the pricing they had just got them from the USA and put 100%+ mark up on them.

Good luck with it anyway

I have emailed the supplier in Poland. I will email Norway or Finland or where ever they are and will keep the arbtalkers informed with any updates.

When we were all failing to get our x27s from amazon usa last year, I sent an email to fiskars uk asking if I could buy them wholesale( was thinking of us as a group ofg arbtalk members)

Got a daft evasive reply from them, so I persisted and got, I reply to say not a uk market item yet blah, blah. But I wasn't impressed with the quality of reply in that instance and this looks like a pass the book. I think Finland will perhaps be the way you may need to go. Fiskars is a popular brand in the uk, It must be worth their while keeping us sweet.
