Are you sure you have not had problems with him before? If not, why call him the "Cupid Stunt"? Hardly shows a mature and easy going relationship from your part when you introduce him to us with a tag like that.

I feel there is a little more to this story, or possibly you are just as antagonistic as him:confused1:.

I think 18 Stoner has a valid point here.

Are you sure it's not you being the "Cupid Stunt" here?

You are doing something to annoy him enough to have to tell you about it. If you are starting saws every weekend then I can see his point.

What may seem trivial to you can be very annoying to others, just like the person who lets their kids run riot all day, let's their dog bark constantly, has 5 scrap cars on their driveway etc etc.

Just remember he has probably paid quite a bit of money to live in that home, why should you or anyone else detract his enjoyment of living there.

Their are far too many selfish people in the world and judging by some of the replies quite a few in here.

Obviously I'm not saying your one of the selfish ones and your neighbour could be cusing hassle over nothing but it is a possibility, so it may be worth thinking about exactly what your doing before directing anymore hate towards your neighbour.

I am just a honest guy trying to make a honest living.

I get a very tidy house my grass is well manicured, no weeds in the beds. I sweep or blow the drive whenever there is any speck of saw dust or chip.

Some of the other points he raised were,

Wanting a copy of my risk assessment for cutting wood and splitting. As I am using a petrol chainsaw and splitting maul he quote "sees this as an industrial sized timber operation on a residential area.

I cut wood for about 2 hour a month, when I get an early day. Never after 5pm!

I was working down London about 2 years ago and in his letter he complained of me leaving my house at 4.30am and thought the need to leave my van running for 10minutes was selfish. Wtf

Before all this happened I knew he had upset everyone else on the estate, but he had never bothered me before.

I use to take his bin out in the morning, helped when he couldn't get his padlock off. Gave him wood. In hindsight I was a mug for helping.

Assuming you aren't processing the wood for sale, you don't need a risk assessment. As to leaving your van running for 10mins, did you do this and, if so, why? :001_smile:

Wood for own use using chainsaw and maul.

This was in the winter. I would get ready work go and start my van first then load up. 10 mins was enough to get the cab warm and defrosted. 10 mins to load up my gear.

No Reving of the engine.

Who one here goes to the van at minus what ever turns the key and goes to work? The odd one or two but most people must let their vans warm up first surely?

Some people just don't like seeing other people getting on with life. Cupid is one of these people.

Maybe ring the timber up elsewhere in future if possible.

Agree with Mr Bolam.

Next time you need a No.2, wipe your arse with his letter and post it back through his door.

My first question is do you own your house? if not I would check your rental agreement before anything goes any further. when I ran my own business I wasn't aloud to give my address as my business address as I rent my house so I got all my post sent to my parents. if you do own your house just send him a letter requesting him to stop been a ........ Twerp and suggest he relocates or mind his own business.

Yeah mate got a mortgage on my house.

Gonna get the mrs to send a letter back. She will keep it short and sweet reponding to the points he has problems with. Not gonna make it tit for tat. Basically it will end with us telling him we are doing nothing wrong and to get on with his life and stop bothering hard working people trying to get a head in lifr

Really don't. It may be good fun but it's also very easy to trip up.

Don't believe me, call a solicitor (a firm who advertises "commercial law") in the morning and ask them. They'll give you 10 mins for free and give you the basic info and advice. If you then decide to go ahead, you'll have help ready to move for if/when you need it.
