As a dealer i thought i should put my bit in; every day i hear someone say they are being ripped off by dealers. Do those of you that think this not watch the news?:scared1:

The Euro/Dollar is the big problem, not us dealers ripping anyone off. The stuff we now have in stock we got at the current prices.

We don't make much more out of these big increases but we do suffer as well; for every £100K worth of stock on the shelf last year it now costs me more like £125K to hold the same amount of stock (that's my 25K sitting there not the distributors/manufactures).

90% of the gear we sell comes from Europe or America - the drop in the Euro/Dollar was well over 30% last year. As we hardly produce anything in this country any more, we end up suffering (excludes ISC made in wales, NO INCREASE:001_smile:).

Not trying to piss you off any more but, as of 1st March, all Elten boots are going up about 15%. Once again, they come form Europe.

Give us dealers a break - we are doing the best we can to reduce the effect of all this on our customers but there is only so much we can do. We have been told that when the exchange rates get better the prices will improve. :001_smile:

Cheers,

Justin.

I,ll bet some customers feel ripped off when they see you drive off with five or six hundred squids in youre bin for a days tree work, but you know you can justify it. I know nothing about how a dealer works and dont want to know. Everyone has to earn a living. So you can take it or leave it, the choice is all youres.

Not really spot on is it im sure dealers risk their lives to hmmmm.

Im pretty sure most tree companies are lowering prices.

So based on what has been said as soon as the euro goes back down we can expect these increases you dealers have made to be completly removed.
