I regularly get asked if i was looking at a woman or a tree by the better half :sneaky2: I found through experience its easier to reply "both" and cover myself :thumbup1: Makes for a laugh when I say "look at the butt on that" or "I bet that old girl has a moist cavity or 2"

" That could to with the top whipping off" she's never sure which one i'm talking about!!!:001_tt2:

Was at a rather stuffy bbq last summer, and another tree man that i vaguely knew, who seemed equally bored, came over and after introducing ourselves he remarked on the large sycamore in our hosts garden. I told him ide already dismantled it down to the stump in my minds eye,and he admitted he'd done the same earlier.

My kids were getting bored with me practising my tree ID until they decided that the Latin names are like spells from Harry Potter. Then they started running round with stick wands shouting things like "Betula pendula" and "Corylus avellana"!

For some reason they also found any of the Pinus genus wildly amusing

whilst doing my UA1, drove the missus mad identifying lines and equipment. Me and the father in law to be are the same as he comments on shoddy pipework as he's a plumber although we tend to talk about real ales:thumbup1::laugh1:
