Done my good deed and got dragged out truck

Maybe it was a quiet night and they were feline a bit bored so decided to pull you over furr the sake of it.

8pm just settling down for the night and the phone rings, one very distressed cat owner. Went missing thursday just found her but fire brigade will not come out nor will rspca help so being a bit soft we put the waterproofs on and headed out (hour drive)

Cat was at the top of fair sized ash tree so we did the business rescued the cat (20 min including chat) and headed home.

Next thing blue lights from all directions, 6 police officers we are boxed in and dragged out of truck, asked what we are doing "just rescuing a cat officer" they just laughed and said "what you really doing ?" then we got searched and breathalysed. Eventually i got one to listen and get the job card out the truck, he rang the customer who fortunately told them how amazing we were and we had just saved her beloved cat. Then he came back over and relayed that our story had just checked out.

The face of every officer present was priceless. Keys returned and on our way home......

 

They either do bugger all or go right over the top.

What reasons did they give you for laying hands on you?

The only reason you should have been handled at all is if you weren't complying with instructions. If that's not the case, a letter to the Superintendent at the relevant station would be in order.

Why did they pull you over?

 

Because he was profiled:thumbdown:. I had this happen to be 18 years ago in a small and really insignificant part of Florida know as North Port. Seems after shopping for groceries 2 blocks from my than residence I was pulled over by one of the local Police. Seems since I had my right head light was not functioning I was entitled to be stopped and searched. Seems since I had debris in the back of my truck along with my gear I was given the chance to come clean, "so to speak". I was asked amount other things if I had any large catches of cash, explosives, drugs or firearms in the cab of my truck. I told idiot who was posing as a Police officer that I did not have any of those items and that I did not drink or smoke or used drugs. At that point I was told that the K-9 was on its way and I had one last chance before a search of my truck was to be done.

By this time and after a 12 hour summer work day,not to mention frozen groceries melting in the cab of my truck just 50' from my fridge, I told the idiot who pulled me over either charge me with something right now or leave.

Another actual Police officer who had showed up as backup calmly walked me back to my cab and said I would be on my way shortly. Another 5 mins of waiting and a warning ticket to get my head light fixed I was allowed to go home and call it a day. No apology from the idiot, no K-9 unit and yes I did save my groceries from being thrown out. Profiling takes place everyday and in many ways around the world. My advice if your ever in SW. Florida and you see the exit or sign for the city limits of NorthPort, slow down to the speed limit and get out of town ASAP:thumbdown:. Don,t stop unless pulled over and remember this story which actually did happen.

When you say "handled" did they lay hands on?

 

I only ask becasue your title says draged out of cab and now you are saying that didnt happen.

With hindsight dragged was probably not the correct term. They had us out and up the sides in seconds, then put gloves on before searching us and vehicle.
