been thinking about this for a while, theres loads of threads asking what people use, how long for and where ect.. thought it would be good to have it all in one place. il put the outline to what i think is the interesting info below so you can just copy and paste it, be interesting to see peoples responses, feel free to add bits on :001_smile:

Where do you work: Vienna, Austria

 

Where have you worked: Uk and here.

 

Where would you like to work: Aus, US, Canada... everywhere!

 

What Climbing System do you use: SRT with Hitchclimber setup and ropewrench.

 

What Harness: Treemotion

 

Whats you favourite saw: Stihl 044

 

Least favourite saw: Stihl 201t

 

Favourite tree to work on: Oak

 

Least Favourite tree to work on: Tree of Heaven

 

Favourite work to carry out: Reductions on mature trees or removals.

 

Favourite arb vehicle: Defeneder!

 

Throwline or Ladder: Both, depends on the situation!

 

Do you climb outside of work: yeah, when the weathers nice

 

Where would you like to be in 10 years time: well travelled, hopefully setup my own business wherever iv enjoyed working the most in the world.

yes been rock climbing for 9 years

Still self employed busy with own work and bringing in other people to work for me and a good reputation and client base.

Where have you worked: Uk, Spain (Evora), Portugal (Paya del a ray) and a week in Vienna and Australia (Both were supposed to be holidays but got bored)

 

Where would you like to work: New Zealand, Galapagos Islands, Sahara Forest :001_tongue:

 

What Climbing System do you use: Single Rope Work Positioning

 

What Harness: TreeMotion

 

Whats you favourite saw: Husky 395xp

 

Least favourite saw: Husky 372 (looses too many bolts)

 

Favourite tree to work on: Paulownia Tomentosa

 

Least Favourite tree to work on: Araucaria aracana

 

Favourite work to carry out: Technical stuff beyond normal rigging

 

Favourite arb vehicle: Volvo 380 with hiab

Do you climb outside of work: Yeah, currently helping Adam Bourne with his UK's Tallest trees expedition.

Favourite work to carry out: Any work is good, Its all work, Its as fun as you make it

Where would you like to be in 10 years time: Set up as a free lance cutter, climbing and forestry, doing fencing and landscaping if the right jobs come up. Getting help in, instead of being the help!

Throwline or Ladder: Ladders, throwlines are for people with too much time.

 

Do you climb outside of work: Not really working 6 days is enough.

 

Where would you like to be in 10 years time: Not having to do stubby climbing at all, being able to provide myself with enough work to fill every week.

Where do you work: lancs, yorks and Cheshire

 

Where have you worked: London, Cambridge and here

 

Where would you like to work: somewhere drier

 

What Climbing System do you use: kiss. Prussia loops

 

What Harness: butterfly

 

Whats you favourite saw:201 t

 

Least favourite saw: blunt ones

 

Favourite tree to work big/ dangerous/difficult ones

 

Least Favourite tree to work on: monkey puzzles/hawthorn

 

Favourite work to carry out: climbing

 

Favourite arb vehicle: Unimog

 

Throwline or Ladder: whatever's easier

 

Do you climb outside of work: there is no " outside of work "

 

Where would you like to be in 10 years time:

still climbing, teaching, doing cunsultancy for clients who actually care about trees.
