How long have you been climbing: sporadically nowdays, but since 1992

 

Where do you work: London - Hampstead Heath

 

Where have you worked: London - Hampstead Heath (since 1985)

 

Where would you like to work: Borneo

 

What Climbing System do you use: DRT with HC Knut/vt

 

What Harness: Petzl Sequoia/Tree Motion

 

What's you favourite saw: Hand saws

 

Least favourite saw: 020 AV

 

Favourite tree to work on: veteran beech

 

Least Favourite tree to work on: Elm

 

Favourite work to carry out: Decay detection

 

Favourite arb vehicle: Landrover 130

 

Throwline or Ladder: Throwline

 

Do you climb outside of work: Not since having kids 9 years ago

 

Where would you like to be in 10 years time: London - Hampstead Heath/Borneo

Where would you like to work: still britain ireland switzerland or swedan

 

What Climbing System do you use: Spiderjack 11mm ddrt with hitchclimber strop

 

What Harness: komet butterfly want a treemotion

 

Whats you favourite saw:Husky groundsaw stihl 200t top

 

Least favourite saw: my stihl 028 av super

 

Favourite tree to work on: oak

 

Least Favourite tree to work on:conifer

 

Favourite work to carry out: silky reduction

 

Favourite arb vehicle: mitsubishi fuso tippers

 

Throwline or Ladder: throwline if i can avood using a ladder

 

Do you climb outside of work: as much as i can

 

Where would you like to be in 10 years time

Fully quilified self employed maybe teaching or running an arb shop

Where have you worked:All over the NW of England

 

Where would you like to work: Disney World! but anywhere interesting really

 

What Climbing System do you use: DdRT with HC and Knut/VT (going to try SRT on the RW soon)

 

What Harness:Petzl Sequoia

 

Whats you favourite saw:Zubat (nice choice Mat:thumbup:)

 

Least favourite saw:Stihl 441 (it never used to like me:lol:)

 

Favourite tree to work on:Just one!?..... Er.... Oak but i probably have a few

 

Least Favourite tree to work on:Big leggy Ash with no decent anchor and covered in Ivy or a London Plane in the summer

 

Favourite work to carry out:Felling big trees

 

Favourite arb vehicle:

 

Throwline or Ladder:Throwline on some days, ladder on the others

 

Do you climb outside of work:Yes

How long have you been climbing: first climbed when i was 14 work from 16

 

Where do you work: The south

 

Where have you worked: the south

 

Where would you like to work: ozz, nz, sweden anywhere else warm with big trees

 

What Climbing System do you use: DRT sj 11m might jump on the srt band wagon soon

 

What Harness: tree motion, if im forced too a petzl

 

Whats you favourite saw: ms460 with a 16inch bar :D

 

Least favourite saw: Stihl 361

 

Favourite tree to work on: euc!

 

Least Favourite tree to work on: pollarding planes in the summer

 

Favourite work to carry out: complicated rigging and felling

 

Favourite arb vehicle: landy, or mog

 

Throwline or Ladder: both depending on the job

Least favourite saw: 201t

 

Favourite tree to work on: Beech

 

Least Favourite tree to work on: Yew

 

Favourite work to carry out: Anything in a tight space

What Harness: cheap one made by company called dragon

Least favourite saw: ms260

 

Favourite tree to work on: beech

 

Least Favourite tree to work on: robinia

 

Favourite work to carry out: clearing/thinning

 

Favourite arb vehicle: Mog

 

Throwline or Ladder: throwline

Where have you worked: Wales, England, Oz, NZ.

 

Where would you like to work: US

 

What Climbing System do you use: DRT SJ. Rarely SRT

 

What Harness: Treemotion

 

Whats you favourite saw: MS200. It gets used more than any other.

 

Least favourite saw: Anything that isn't Stihl or Husky

 

Favourite tree to work on: Beech

 

Least Favourite tree to work on: Gum, Anything with big ass thorns.

 

Favourite work to carry out: Big fells and dismatnles that look good but are easy climbing.

 

Favourite arb vehicle: Anything that does the job well.

 

Throwline or Ladder: Both, but usually throw line.

 

Do you climb outside of work: No.

 

Where would you like to be in 10 years time: Still climbing at least once or twice a week and still in the industry but on the job at least four days a week.

been thinking about this for a while, theres loads of threads asking what people use, how long for and where ect.. thought it would be good to have it all in one place. il put the outline to what i think is the interesting info below so you can just copy and paste it, be interesting to see peoples responses, feel free to add bits on :001_smile:

Where do you work: Bucks herts London essex all over, wherever theres a big old vet to be done

 

Where have you worked: as above

 

Where would you like to work: Windsor/Staverton/eppingforest/

 

What Climbing System do you use: Tachyon/armour prus Vt/HC combination with tachyon side strop and art positioner tree austria 3 harness with seat

 

What Harness: Tree austria 3

 

Whats you favourite saw: Stihl 051/ (old school) stihl o46 and 20t

 

Least favourite saw: old o96!

 

Favourite tree to work on: Oak & beech

 

Least Favourite tree to work on: Monkey puzzle!

 

Favourite work to carry out: reduction/retrenchment

 

Favourite arb vehicle: depends on situation

 

Throwline or Ladder: both/situation

 

Do you climb outside of work: yes

 

Where would you like to be in 10 years time:

managing my own wood for product, charcoal coppice etc or managing a SSSI woodland maybe combine both

Whats you favourite saw: 441 so far its been beautiful but also my 200t

 

Least favourite saw: 201t defiantly

 

Favourite tree to work on: anything large without thorns or ivy

 

Least Favourite tree to work on Gleditsia triacanthos

 

Favourite work to carry out: big dismantles and tricky rigging

 

Favourite arb vehicle: hilux single cab wooden deck

 

Throwline or Ladder: hate ladders

 

Do you climb outside of work: yes

 

Where would you like to be in 10 years time: healthy and successful
