Found a 6" length of cast iron guttering with the 460 last week. It was a large sycamore takedown, and was actually inside the trunk, no signs from outside. Buggered the chain, and I took the log apart with an axe out of curiosity to find it, cast iron nails and all!

Make sure you plant them close to the fence line (how ever many years ago that might have been)

Stopped at a junction down a country lane near buckingham last week and spotted what looked like a baking tray embedded in a tree. Was white enameled as well. Quite bizarre

A few years back I was machine planning some mahogany boards. After one pass I saw this piece of metal embedded in the board. I was dreading the damage that must have been done to the planner knifes but oddly there was no tell-tale sign of a ridge in the board after the metal. I dug out this round lump of metal and I think it was an old lead musket shot and left no damage to the knifes. I can only presume it dates back to the Spanish conquistadores colonisation of South America and Brazil (where the wood came from).
