Lid came off oil today and covered my rope rope :cursing: Now I need clean my rope. What do i do? Give it a Long soak in the bath with washing powder? Don't want to risk the washing machine as it a 45m and think it'll be a tad heavy. I think I've got some nikwax cleaning fluid for jackets and spoke to my mate who sells it who said it's the same as the rope cleaner (he got that from the nikwax rep) What do you recommend?

getting a better lid for the oil can and replacing the rope. The question is how much is your life worth? more than the price of a new 45 meter rope? i am not saying to throw money away but when it comes to safety kit id rather spend the money and be safer.

Ropes are made from Plastic,Plastic comes from Oil.
