Really? Why would you spend all that cash on a LJ or SJ and then leave it in your bag except for rescues? seems a complete waste of money to me. That's like buying a treemotion but using a Treescape harness everyday.

Very different over here in Germany , the climbing certificates are taught on lock jacks so that's what most learn to climb on so they stick to that for a bit then have a play around with hitches a couple use them in the wet as well but they pretty much have then lying around in the kit bag

real interesting as when i did my climbing ticket in the uk we was told the pro's and con's of the lockjack and how dangerous they can potentially be in comparison to using a prussik loop i.e. pull the toggle and freefall. we was allowed to go up and down on one but had a belay on so if anyone gave it the tablet on the way down they wouldnt hit the deck  I really like lockjacks

im kinda old school and have always climbed on a prussik, but considering pre ordering the zigzag, looks like a really good bit of kit, have thought about the spiderjack but it looks a little too complicated for my simple mind :confused1: the zigzag on the otherhand looks easy to use and easy to set up....one thing that concerns me is wet/icey weather usage??

When I was a college 3/4 years ago mechanicals weren't even mentioned. I've been thinking of trying one out but still climb on a prussik. I free lance and can honestly say that everyone I know in the industry also climbs on a prussik or friction knot of some kind. I'm not saying ones better then the other, I'm still waiting to try one out - zigzag looks good!
