Define an idiot in relation to arboriculture?

Definition of idiot (arboriculture)

someone who has no inherent ability for working with chainsaws, ropes, knots, handsaws, winches, climbing equipment, machinery etc. Someone who is naturally a terrible judge of forces, distances, weights and angles. A person generally lacking in foresight in relation to matters of treework.

Maybe a guide is a good thing, a little bit of guidance could work but what's next? an NPTC unit in handsaw use? I can already see the training providers drawing up training courses as we speak.

Use the back of the saw to knock deadwood off, not the blade. a blunt silky requires more force and gives much worse injuries. change blades reqularly, if its not cutting like butter its getting blunt. You generally only use 1 arm all the time whilst doing silky work and ya shoulder can take a beating if the blade is blunt.

if you need help or guidance on using a Silky or any type of handsaw then get out of treework.

Only cackhanded clowns continually cut or knick themselves with handsaws, seriously? is this thread a joke?

Part of the problem with treework today is that it's attracted a lot of idiots who should've never been encouraged to get into treework, idiots need constant guidance.

Jaime, if you want to improve safety in the industry ban idiots.

Best advice!!
