They fruit profusely in their native area. I had the idea that the fruit were good to eat. Maybe not.

You would have to hold your nose if you were going to eat it. Ginkgo fruit smells of dog shit. Really. The second oldest Ginkgo in the UK is just on the other side of our garden wall and fruits sporadically. Not sure I would want to try to eat it.
