What would you know gramps?

It was a genuine question though. I'm not 100% sold on SRT. Some jobs I reckon it makes life harder for me.

Throw line into another tree and base tie.

Spike up the leaner using the SRT line as a balancer. What's easier about trying to do the same with a doubled rope?

I can imagine all the dust from chipping that James!

Yep. We are normally pretty careful about crap going in the chipper to save the blades but when one of the lads started shovelling it in I had to just let it happen. Chipper tracked up on a log to get the angle of the hopper up to stop as much sliding out. Awful!

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
