Yep, stood around outside for 5 hours waiting. The two other guys stood around outside with the chipper by J26 for hours too. Ridiculous.

Beautiful little fox! 😍

Wishful thinking. Recovery truck turned up, no tow bar.

Couldn't make it up. 😂

That's like an ambulance with no defibrillator .

When the office called for recovery of "the van" they forgot to mention that pertinent detail of it towing a chipper.

Not all recovery trucks has tow bars. Spec/underlifts can have a towbar attachment, but not all do. At the AA all our tilt and slide trucks had them, but not the beavertails.

(This was a twin-deck tilt and slide with an underlift.)

Few fallen trees to pull out of canal.

I think the method statement took longer than the job on this one.

Yes. Tom D,s old one.

yes ,serious flow.

Canal was built in the 1850s (famine relief project) to link two large lakes but area is a maze of caves and underground rivers so there’s stretches with no water and stretches  like this one.

Nightmare Moose!

Day 3 of a connie kill-fest, probably a great example of why topping connies is so truly shite.
Dead middles, inclusions everywhere and inevitable massive crown spreads.
BT lines, LV feed, house and fragile fence in the mix.
12 loads of chip and one of rakings. Luckily all the heavy was staying.

Finished at dark o’clock with a cold one.

Met this little fella on the lane just before the job.

Nice. I caught this little one and released him elsewhere. Somewhere not near my chickens and ducks ...... IMG_5074.jpg
