Yes all done for free, trees donated from a local landowner and client of ours and we donate our time and equipment to put it up and do the lights which are paid for with money from some local fundraising otherwise it just wouldn't happen.

Lovely use of the tipper to get it up emoji1303.png

The red tape we had to go through was ridiculous. The local council wouldn't let us do it for free, had to be quoted for, and carried out by a vat registered and insured contractor. Luckily a mate stepped up who runs a civil engineering company and we did it through him. Donated the money straight back into the village community charity fund.

I don't do social media so don't know what Arsebook is like but - really?  How the **** do people find something to moan about in such an arrangement?

The silent majority - including myself of course - will be right behind you:  good effort, nice gesture.  Well done ?

Same goes for @Timbertom111

Well following the photos you look like a vandal, stripping the light off a public tree, stealing it and planting it in your woodland, you should hang your head in shame ?

While your definition is undoubtedly accurate, I would never have regarded it thus, until you pointed it out. I would have regarded it as a resource, a source of information ( cos so many of the posters on here know what they're talking about,  ), a source of help, and a marketplace.

Re Social Media, there is of course the inevitable banter, badinage, jests, japes, jokes, toys being thrown out of prams, and handbags at twenty paces. ( I think I can get away with the last one, cos I'm not a soccer pundit).

All human life is here, long may it continue.
