Our thoughts exactly but he seemed to think he was the man for the job.

 

A pensioner as well.  
 

Good luck to him, he will need it.

 

My mate also took down 4 other pine’s and a twin stemmed birch for the old boy to clear.

This depends on your viewpoint I think. Some pensioners are keen do have a big job like clearing up arisings to go at. It gives them a purpose in life that might otherwise be lacking. If you've got the whole summer to get it sorted, just doing a little each day, it's gonna be much more appealing than being faced with the challenge of getting it finished before the end of the working day.

Nah. Do that with a 230. It'll just take longer. What is it? 30"?

36" bar. Lose 4" in the dogs and cover. 2" stickout. Double bar with a 16" 230 (small dogs) just about meets.

Won't be bigger than that will it. Unless you have some longer bar I wasn't aware you could get?

 

He'll have a laugh rolling it over though.
