This lime was a maiden that I started a pollard cycle in 2008 ish.

First two pics (with blue pick up) are of its first ‘repollard’ in 2015.

Last three are today’s job.

The original couple I worked for are deceased, so their three sons use it as a holiday home, which has a nice continuity to it.

Almost certainly the last time in this tree.

Proper pollard!

In a way it isn’t, at least for the purists who think pollards should be started at an early age, this started as a topping/reduction.

But very little, if any, rot in the pollard heads, so all good for the moment.

Eh, close enough. I'm doing a 21st century repollard (customer's words, not mine) in a month or so (my red lines on your photo). I might suggest something a little less drastic to him, but... they're his sycamores. Oh well.

a mixed bag of things this last week. conifer hedge removal with all the toys, monterey pine removal with an 80 tonne crane and some tree planting. I didn’t spec or choose the trees but got subbed in with some plant to help with moving them off the lorries and putting them in the holes. rumour has it that the pine was 35k. It weighed about 8 tonne so was a fair lump.
