Some pics from the last couple of days. Fir and Red cedar removal. Me and another bloke, Dave.

We measured the big fir at 160....the cedars much smaller, but a ton of brush to chip. Great weather this week.

It's a 350, Don. 7.3 V8 deisel. 4x4. It's old, but at least you can fix them....no computer. The new diesels are so complicated that if something goes wrong, you can't get home.

Any decent PRFs?

the ewt assess trees from the ground prior to marking them up and giving us the spec and GPS coordinates. We then assess the tree during the climb and any cavities are retained. Any high scoring habitat trees are passed over to EECOS, who do a survey. Obviously, some high scoring trees still have to be removed if they are a high risk to the public...this is also determined by EWT/EECOS. I've done lots of bat-surveys for EECOS and have yet to see a bat...but we did find a hybernaculum after poking a camera into a hollow field maple in Hatfield Forest...its a good way of checking a tree prior to felling if you havent got an endoscope!
