I am checking ebay, but if you see someone selling a number of saws which correspond to a load that have been nicked why can't we not have a link saying saws for sale....? There is loads of stuff on ebay much of it stolen and I don't have time to search it all, if someone sees something they feel might have been nicked from a member it would be good to let them know, so they can check it out.

Also an email to the seller requesting serial numbers might scare some of the crooks of using ebay...?

ben, this can be done via pm can't it? If steve as the webmaster says no links then we should respect his wishes shouldn't we? I'm not saying you're wrong but there are ways around it.

if you see saws that you think have been stolen from a member then pm the member. i think its perfectly clear why its not ok to post links to items and suggesting that they are stolen, and even if thats not how the thread starts it will inevitably go down that path.

try to look at it from my angle as the owner of this site. it would be like you advertising that you thought someone might be selling stolen goods and sticking a big poster up on your front door.

What if a genuine seller just happens to have the same or similar combination of equipment as some someone who is robbed.

And its posted on here that someone thinks it maybe the stolen gear.

The least that may happen is some buyer are put off resulting the seller receiving less bids.

Is that fair?
