6 inch granny logs take twice as long create twice as much saw dust and use up all the air space in the truck. Charge a third more.

I dont think you will struggle to sell your 12in logs but if you have room do two sizes 9.5 and 12 I think most people want house brick sized logs. With these super insulated houses all people will need in the future will be a 5 kw stove to heat the house so we need to get used to it.

We cut mainly 10"-12" (not that precise as we process with a chainsaw)

We are only small but sell out buy Christmas so log size has not been a problem for us. We have tried smaller logs but as has already been said they take so much time to process. We live and supply to a rural area so most stoves are large as they provide most of the heating for our customers.

I sell my softwood at 25cm length for the stove market and hardwood generally at 30cm. I sometimes get requests for a 20cm cut and it is a bit of a hassle (logs do not fall right in the processor, sawdust, etc!), I think I should consider charging extra. Is a third extra charge the norm for smaller logs? what does everyone else do?
