  1. Send logbook in with change of body type box filled in with the word Tipper Then ring your insurance & tell the of the modifications and away you go There's no need for an mot as the tipper body & the original body are bolt off / on parts ☺
  2. the best strength to weight ratio for a load bed I have found is alloy planks but there bloody expensive! but bloody strong I did a similar project to carry a 1.6 ton mini digger on a 3.5 ton truck! the alloy planks were up to the job!! & kept the truck inside 3500kg limit ;-) keep an eye on ebay and the like for them last load I got cost £250 & they came off a 7.5 ton recovery truck so there was enough to cover 20-22 feet in length & each plank was 7 foot long
  3. Horsey types will pay good money for a knackered horse box! If you've already started cutting it up it's too late!!! If all you need is a flat bed with a ramp cut the roof off cut the sides down go a few inches above the load bed then trim the sides down level with the load bed neatly bob an Ali angle trim over where you've cut the sides off Bolt a good sized van vault on the back one that will take your blinds shovels take n a chain saw jobs a good un ! You may need to support the tailgate on beaver tails before I've used a piece of steel as a brace on one side if the tail gate that holds in place with a toggle catch & the used a rachet strap on the other side to hold the tailgate tight & stop it from rattling ;-)
  4. I'd of sold the horse box n bought a flat bed or beaver tail truck & modified that to suit!

  8. I have always priced for planting jobs I deal with trade nursery's for the plants, trees etc & then charge garden centre prices for them! It's always worked for me I have had the odd person ask me to do jobs by the hour I just politely explain that I don't charge by the hour but by the job so they know exactly how much they are paying ! ;-)

  10. pallet wood & any other type of joiners off cuts will go through a kindlet or any other kindling machine!! you just have to spend an age cutting the pallets up to fit the machine!!

  17. that's a straight scam by the looks of things to me ive been looking at what processors are bringing on the secondhand market & have been looking on ebay for the last couple of months the pics are off a couple of different ads that have been on for hakki pilkes in the last few weeks and how he wants paying sounds a little fishy I would never send money for a machine before I had seen it & was either collecting it my self or loading it on my own hauliers truck myself! id run a mile & report him to ebay!
  18. hi a friend of mine is opening a restaurant & is in the fitting out stage he is looking for a piece of timber milled into a 2-3 inch thick but still with the bark on the edges to use as a shelf behind the bar & maybe a second piece to use as a bar / counter top preferably about 15-20 feet long if that's possible/viable in one length the questions are what type of timber would be best what widths are available is there anyone near Leeds (or within reasonable distance) who could supply and what sort of ball park cost would a piece of timber that size be? he is also looking for some 20 inch diameter circular boards to use as serving boards if there's anybody who makes that sort of thing cheers Dave
  19. your right Ian you can not beat being honest I try to educate all my customers as to bag sizes so they know what volume they are buying!! some people round here just look at the price tag & that's the deciding factor I`ve even been told his logs are crap but there cheaper than yours so ill buy off him! how 2x.5m bags for £100 are cheaper than 1m bag @£85 I don't know?? it really makes me lol
  20. yeah 60 quid a cube or 2 for £100 as his advert says there .55 builders bags which are not full so really half a meter for 60 quid or £100 per meter me & you are the same price Ian who's got it right us or him???

I can not see the whole wagon but it looks like a 6 wheeler which will have a ten ton pay load? whatever was on there it was still cheaper than paying for a skip!
  24. diesel roller on vibrate or a whacker plate its best to roll when the ground is damp if you roll when its dry there will be very little improvement roll when its wet & you will do more damage than good!!
