Years back I turned up to look at a big-ish Leylandii takedown.

I quoted £350 and the woman seemed pretty happy.

As we were leaving the garden she asked if I would be paying cash?:confused1:

Turned out when she had asked 'how much?' she thought I was offering to pay her to take her valuable tree down.

'I know how much firewood is worth, blah blah blah'.

I walked away a bit bewildered, and even wished her luck with getting a good price.

Glad I hadn't driven far to price that one!

Had a punter tell me that his rotten nail ridden walnut was worth at least a grand, his mate down the pub said so, they sell them to purdy to make guns you know?

Fortunately this was realised before doing the job!

Just had a call from the boss and he has cut his finger off with his hydraulic log splitter earlier. But still working tomorrow, he has cut an inch off the end and is waiting to see of they can stitch it back on. Be sure I will be taking some pics tomorrow.
