Time is money tho

Have you considered whether the high hedges legislation comes into play?

if so then you may need to sort it out.

if not then you could always tell her to get some quotes or get some yourself for the work she wants carrying out and then take it from there.

bare in mind that as previously stated sky engineers always seem to blame the nearest obstacle.

The earlier post that said your neighbour has no right to ask you to cut your trees down:thumbup: Spot on, anything you do is up to you, she has no legal right to Satelite reception.

The trees were probably there when the dish went up - lazy engineer, you bet.

Do you go for the option of cutting or topping the connifers - up to you, do you get on with the old bird next door - you may like a bit of sport or a wind up but be sure that you know where it will end - any legal action can get expensive if costs are split or go against you.

I guess the easy option is to get the things topped but having been through similar things myself makes me temted to tell people to go forth as people have strange ways of approaching the subject of reducing trees - my old neighbour was caught throwing garden waste over my fence in to my garden - we called him Bell End for good reason:lol::lol:

Tbh I wouldn't care if it was legally right or not I think morally you should keep them maintained ie pruned to a sensible height.

I have seen far too many selfish people that because their tree doesn't bother them everyone else can get stuffed.

Btw I'm not suggesting your selfish as your are asking if you should do something about it.:thumbup1:

Do the right thing and get them back in check, then keep them in check.

If it was the other way around im sure you would think your neighbour unreasonable if they did nothing about it, plus it must be blocking some light off at 60 feet.

Life's too short to piss people off.

Spare a thought for the poor schmo who lives in the shadow of these behemoths, have the pests down and get a native or two planted. You know it's going to be cheaper and easier in the long term.

As a sane human I loathe these "trees", as a tree surgeon I love them, every year trim and top, trim and top, trim and top etc etc cha ching, cha ching.

IMO,

Bing!

.

The trees are not on the boundary with the complaining neighbour, so I don't think the legislation would apply.

My first question would be where is the dish, it may be possible to simply move it higher up the building or left/right to avoid the trees.

You would think. But my experience suggests that it is actually easier to spend £000's and remove the trees than to stick a dish on the end of a 10' pole! :confused1:

It was good work right enough, but common sense didn't seem to enter into it.
