Because they are trying it on mate. A lot of people wouldn't question the increase. You did and they wound their neck in and played the game.

Trust did it to me to the tune of nearly 400 quid. Droped the renewal price by approx 400 notes when I told them I had a cheaper quote.

Trust for me as well, they did a fantastic quote, they know the arb trade and the type of use/abuse vehicles undergo and included all tipper components which apparently isn't always the case.

edit: just read Rich's post, not such impressive treatment but at least they dropped the renewal. This is my first year with them so we'll see how competitive they are at renewal.

Don't knock it, the fact that many don't question the quote allows them to discount yours ;):thumbup1:

Just moved my transits from trust.

dearest one they wanted £1250, cheapest one was £750

shopped round last week one day after getting rained on all morning.

eventually got the best quote from Adrian Flux, who i've got my landy with.

dearest is the 53 d/cab chip truck, 1 years no claims (new policy) any driver over 25 = £825

cheapest was the 04 d/cab pickup tipper, full n/c, any driver £425

Trusts answer to this was "if we were the cheapest everytime, i'd be a millionaire"

PI and EI is due next month, i think i'll be having a ring round
