i prefer the other measurement, that usually gets spoken around 11pm...

I know that 1 all too well!!

Your work is inspiration, dont think I could try anything with resin like that with my limited space and the amount of dust my workshed houses, would come in and fined a set of mouse prints in it.

Keep us posted with a finished photo to make us more envious.

the table and chair complement each other perfectly, hows your hands after all that routering, Ive been doing some signs for our local woodlands group in the pat week and after routing an A3 pocket14mm deep in elm, times 4, the hands and fingers dont half tingle.... forget an av chainsaw, its nothing, again you are a very skilled man, keep up the good work

Thank you Si, Mr.Mog.

I do accept your compliments, and to get them is always great, but I think im just winging it most of the time ;-) I'm no master carpenter, just a bloke with a load of mad ideas. until this project I swore never to use routers again (cos I suck at them) but found i might be alright with them now. I've never carved, and I cant draw a stick-man with a pencil - I think my tattooist might have stuck me with a bit of his skill, cos I managed to freehand that lot. The little router was a bit numb hands at the end, but the big DW is lovely to use, just cant on fine work/edging.

Si, the resin was a gamble, only ever done small bits. cos the theme of the table is "stuff from the ground" I had loads of big fake diamonds and sapphires and gold to go in the resin, and a little sword(frodos), but soon as I put resin over them they vanished, so it was sort of like what now, 10 minutes to come up with an idea before it sets - had those 25mm steel spheres hanging around. At the end where there was a bark inclusion or rot (cant remember which), i set the resin in 3 layers, so the balls are at different levels and look like they are floating - cos you can see thru to the floor thru it.

The only original kept bit is the gold ring (brass) set in the top/edge. But I like the balls, it works. better than just trying to make a top look like there wasn't a fault in it by splicing in a bit of timber. the rest of the inlay is crushed pytrites. It was to be gold leaf but was a bitch to work with so I gave up.

I had a dream 2 nights ago of a chair, like that table.. now I think this next project WILL be good. Might make a fine carpenter yet ;-)
